Cottage cheese is a low calorie snack. At 120 calories per serving, this can be made into an even healthier snack by adding fruits to the cottage cheese. Adding bananas, kiwis, strawberries and cherries to this healthy snack will fill you up and taste great.

Multi Grain Crackers

Multi grain crackers are also a low calorie snack. The only think that one should watch for is how many of the crackers are eaten in one sitting. Pairing with crackers is a very simple and easy thing to do. Cheese and peanut butter are good items to eat with crackers.

Small Portions

Making portion sizes smaller or have them set up so that it is in the right size beforehand is also a great way to snack healthy. Putting items in the right portion size in a plastic bag before heading out makes sure that you eat the right amount and stays done. Follow the packaging’s portion size to know how much to pack for later.

Eat Often

When snacking try not to go hungry because being hungry leads to wanting more food each meal. When preparing snacks have a designated time to eat, like a certain time between breakfast and lunch, the same thing goes for between lunch and dinner. Set a time to stop eating at such as 8 o’clock. Eating after this set time can lead to eating tons of snacks before bed.
